With Goal keepers seemingly in short supply this weekend due to holidays and hospital visits both teams had a new goalie for the visit of Rusthall, With Aaron Murphy and Callum Horscroft playing in goal both teams got off to good starts the Wasps were first to score when Leon Wolvey curled in direct from a corner and it wasn’t long before Jack Tebbutt got his name on the score sheet with a brace before Leon added to his goal tally with a neat finish, Rusthall pulled one back in the second half, before the goal of the season gave JT his Hat trick this was the best goal your ever likely to see at under 10’s football, The defence switched play twice to pulling the Rusthall players out of position before playing the ball into Chris Walter in centre midfield who laid the ball off first time out wide for Samuel Rogers to run onto and deliver a superb cross in for the advancing Jack Tebbutt to head home GOAL GOAL GOAL. and that’s how the game finished 5-1
The Hornets Started slower but still managed to score 5 without reply Oscar McConnell managed to Bag himself 4 and a debut goal for Max Holden finished the scoring, more pleasing was the performance of Callum in goal keeping a clean sheet  and the hard working Harry Harden.
The second round of matches started with Wasps wanting to carry on where they left off the previous match and took the game to Rusthall from the Kick Off and it wasn’t long before Jack scored again before Samuel Rogers added a brace then came the Timmy Brisley show as he danced around 4 Rusthall players before teeing up Jack to finish from close range, Rusthall managed to score when they broke quickly from a Grasshoppers corner 4-1 to the Wasp was the final result.
On the other pitch was the game of the season so far it finished 4-3 to Rusthall but what a game!
With the Hornets seeming to go to sleep Rusthall took full advantage and surged into a 3-1 lead with only 3 minutes remaining James Fiest’s goal looking like a consolation, then the game sprang to life the little winger managed to pull another goal back and the tide look to swing the hornets way not happy with his two goals and the side trailing James score another in a goal mouth scrabble 3-3 and a minute to go could the the hornets pull off a memorable come back and snatch victory at the final whistle ? Well it took a fantastic save by the Rusthall keeper to tip Oscar’s fierce drive onto the bar with the ball bouncing James Fiest tried to emulate Jack Kings bicycle kick against Ratton but didn’t make contact. Rusthall then broke at pace with the Hornets looking for the winner they had pushed everyone forward and left a whole at the back and this what helped the visitors score the winner. What a finish to a game!!
M.O.M awards this week go to Leon Wolvey for the Wasps and Harry Harden for the Hornets both players got the award for their hard working displays in the midfield helping drive the teams forward as well as defending.

Saturdays Match ment an away fixture to Ratton Rangers after looking at the results from the last round of matches this was likely to be a much harder set of games, After arriving at Eastbourne in good time the players had a warm up and got instructions for the matches the games Kicked off and both matches were close affairs the wasps winning 1-0 after a good finish from Justin from leons corner. The Hornets were very unlucky losing 2-1 after seeming to have the ball in the net twice but goals not being given, the highlight of the game being Jack Kings over head kick goal.
The second matches both went grasshoppers way with the Wasps winning 5-1 a Jack Tebbutt hatrick eased us into the lead with Timmy Brisley adding 2 more with a left and right foot finish. Ratton came back into the game in the second half and played the better football the highlight of the second half was the save from Gareth after a harsh penalty was given against us.
The Hornets game was as equally as close as the wasps first game but it was Oscar McConnell who broke the deadlock after a fine finish from the edge of the area from a Harry Harden Corner, The game finished 1-0 to give the hornets the result they deserved. Both keepers were in good form between the sticks making some great saves to keep the Ratton forwards at bay but it was a good team effort by all.
