We have put in some awful performances, turned up late, been hungover, got annoyed with the ref, had some unfortunate injuries/illnesses/absences and had some dreadful luck on the pitch. We have also played some excellent football, run our socks off, outplayed supposedly better teams, fought for each other and showed great team spirit. But whether through our own failings, or through sheer bad luck, we currently stand this season with an overall record of P12 W3 D1 L8. We can certainly say that we didn’t deserve to lose some of the games we have lost, including this one, but lost them we have and we need to break out of the losing habit.

Posted by editor in : Uncategorized , add a commentAfter the spirited performance put in last week in the Cup against a side from a higher league, this game was a let down. I can’t put it down to any one individual or event, but it seemed that most of the players were just not quite up to their normal personal standards, and that marginal shortfall was the difference between winning comfortably and losing. The early kick off obviously did not assist some of our players in getting over their activities the night before, but if we are going to put up any sort of decent showing in our last season together, we need a change in attitude to the way that some of us prepare. As a team, we were off the pace throughout this match, with a few notable exceptions.

Posted by editor in : Uncategorized , add a commentDespite the scoreline in this cup match, this performance was miles better than the previous week against St Hill Blues. Withdean Youth play in the Sussex County League and were an extremely well drilled, fit and skillful team.

Quite frankly, there hasn’t been anything worth writing about up to now and my mum always told me if I couldn’t say something positive not to say anything at all.
