We apparently created and missed between 25-30 chances in the game, whilst Horsham scored with 6 of their 10 or so attacks. Three of the goals conceded came from corners which we failed to defend- a common theme this season.
Looking at the positives, it’s good to hear that Sam and Nip are back to their best and I look forward to them ripping a team apart soon like they used to last year. Also, in the absence of both Craig and JP from the centre of midfield, Harry and Tom acquitted themselves well.
As Gordon said after the game, someone is going to get a hiding from us before the season is out. If that day comes soon, then it could well be that more than one will be dished out, as I’m sure that once we start finding the target, we won’t want to stop.
Gordon didn’t specify a MoM, but he was pretty clear about the CRAP award, which goes to Jake for having to be taken off even though we didn’t have a sub.
We have ten games left as Uckfield Grasshoppers. The team, which started as a bunch of 6 year olds, has come all the way through and most of you have been involved for most of that time- some of you for all of it! Let’s make the most of these last games together, enjoy our football, put the effort in and show the league what we are capable of.
